GRP nabbed 3 in youth's murder case in Bihar

The Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested three persons, including a woman, in the case of the murder of a 25-year-old youth whose body was found stuffed in a steel box kept in a coach of the Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express train, the police said on Wednesday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Nisha Kumari, her husband Vicky Kumar alias Chhotu and their friend Bittu Kumar of Lakhisarai district.

According to the GRP, the family of the deceased, Jagat Kumar Mahto, a resident of Kamalpur in Sheikhpura district, filed a missing complaint at the local police station on February 15. The police recovered the bag and shoes of the deceased from the house of the accused few. The body of the deceased was taken out of the main train number 3 of the express train when it reached Patna Junction on February 13 evening.

Rail SP Amratendu Shekhar Thakur said Vicky and Jagat were childhood friends. "Both studied in Calcutta from class VII onwards. During the investigation, it came to light that Nisha had an extra-marital affair with Jagat, whose wedding was scheduled for May this year. When Vicky came to know about their illicit relationship, he gave his wife two options, to marry his friend or to help him kill Jagat. The wife agreed to the murder and invited him to a house in Lakhisarai. The couple killed him by strangling Jagat with a rope," he said.

Railway police sources said that Vicky got the idea of murder and disposal of the body after watching the story of crime shows (CID and Crime Patrol) on TV.
